Tu aimes le sport? Oui… Title page- gives key question. Over-arching methodology is oral choral with adaptations for being a ppt. There are 4 possible answers using: like, dislike, love and hate… All sports are masculine to make form/grammar easier. Teachers will have to adapt to teach feminines and plurals. 2 J’aime jouer au… Give key stem for answer before variations

3 + = J’aime jouer au basket.
INPUT: teach ‘J’aime jouer’ – students already know ‘au basket’ and are challenged to recall this

4 = + Je n’aime pas jouer au foot.
INPUT: teach ‘Je n’aime pas jouer’ – students already know ‘au foot’ and are challenged to recall this

5 = + J’adore jouer au ping-pong.
INPUT: teach ‘J’adore jouer’ – students already know ‘au ping-pong’ and are challenged to recall this. ‘Adore’ is a cognate.

6 = + Je déteste jouer au tennis.
INPUT: teach ‘Je déteste jouer’ – students already know ‘au tennis’ and are challenged to recall this. ‘Déteste’ is a cognate. au tennis.

7 = + J’aime jouer au badminton.
INPUT slides 7-10 – teach sentences first without words (listening, speaking) , then fly words in (for reading). Get students to notice decoding / correct pronunciation rules.

8 = + Je n’aime pas jouer au rugby.

9 = + J’adore jouer au hockey.

10 = + Je déteste jouer au cricket.

DISCRIMINATION/Guided production Students (taking turns in teams) guess what the teacher is thinking. There are 3 ‘vrai’ answers. Teams get 2 points for guessing the ‘vrai’ answer (in a complete sentence). 1 point for saying the correct sentence even if it’s ‘faux’.
