The most common negation is NOT= ne…pas I don’t eat = je ne mange pas I don’t go= je ne vais pas I am not talking=je ne parle pas I am not studying well=je n’étudie pas bien I am not tired=je ne suis pas fatigué(e) I am not 15= je n’ai pas quinze ans

3 La place de “ne…pas” in the present tense with one verb
Always place “ne” before the very first verb and “pas” right after the verb! il ne fait pas beau il ne neige pas il ne pleut pas il ne parle pas chinois il ne regarde pas la télé il ne va pas au ciné il n’est pas sympa il n’a pas de crayon il ne partage pas son gateau avec moi.

Here are the other negations! To express: “nothing/anything” replace “ne…pas” by “ne…rien” I don’t have anything in my backpack= je n’ai rien dans mon sac à dos. I eat nothing at lunch= je ne mange rien au déjeuner

Always place “ne” before the very first helping verb( the auxiliary) and “pas” right after it (the auxiliary)! It would sound like I don’t have… or I am not… je n’ai pas mangé Je n’ai pas regardé Je n’ai pas fait Je n’ai pas étudié Je n’ai pas vu Je ne suis pas allé(e) Je ne me suis pas amusé(e)
