4 1. CEFA’s Vision (La Vision de CEFA) 1.Assure food security which is one of the causes of mortality. (Assurer la sécurité alimentaire qui est une des causes de mortalité.) 2.Help with the transofmration of the community according to God’s will because God and Jesus are the base (foundation) of the development of man. (Aider à la transformation d'une communauté selon la volonté de Dieu car Dieu et Jesus sont à la base (fondation) du developpement de l'homme.) 3.Have compassion on people following the example of Jesus during his earthly ministry. This is part of the wholistic ministry of man. (Avoir de la compassion vis-à-vis des hommes à l'exemple de Jesus pendant son ministere terrestre. Cela fait partie du ministere holistique de l'homme.)

5 4.Help the community produce enough food in quality as well as quantity in a diversified manner. (Aider la communauté à produire aussi bien en quantité qu'en qualité et de maniere diversifiée.) 5.Enable the community to produce for itself instead of always depending on help from the outside. Thus a member in the community should arrive at the level where they can produce enough food for their family, have a reserve of seeds for next season and possibly sell surplus production to generate some income. Rendre la communauté capable de produire pour elle-meme au lieu de dependance toujours d'un secours exterieur. Donc un membre dans une communauté doit arriver au niveau où il doit produire pour l'alimentation de son foyer, avoir de reserve en matiere de semence pour la prochaine campagne et vendre si possible le surplus en de generer les revenus. 1. THE METHODOLOGY EMPLOYED TO FULLFILL THIS VISION (LA METHODOLOGIE EMPLOYEE POUR LA MISE EN OEUVRE DE CETTE VISION) When CEFA is introduced into a community it works with the group rather than individuals CEFA en s'introduisant dans une communauté privilegie le groupement par rapport à l'individu Work done in a group has great importance before God. Un travail qui se fait en groupe est d'une grande importance devant Dieu. As we work together everyone contributes their wisdom and knowledge. Ensemble les forces sont unies chacun contribue avec sa sagesse, sa connaissance.

7 The Word of God in Ecclesiastes 3:9-11 says: « It is better to be two than to be alone because as two together one receives a good benefit from the work. La parole de Dieu dans Ecclesiastes 4:9-11 qui dit: Il vaut mieux etre deux que tout seul, parce qu'à deux on retire un bon profit du travail. With all of the above, CEFA is privileged to work with groups that it considers partners. Fort de tout ce qui précède, CEFA en privilgiant de travailler avec les groupements les considere comme des parténaires. 2. 8 3. CEFA’S STRATEGY LA STRATEGIE DE CEFA Undertake experiments and trials at the SOMONGOE site. Faire de l'expérimentation ou essai sur son site de SOMONGOE Along with the trials at the Center we hold trainings and seminars for leaders or representatives of the groupements in: A coté des essais, nous faisons au Centre des formations et seminaires au profit des leaders ou représentants des groupements sur les domaines – Agriculture (de l'agriculture} – Husbandry and fish culture ( de l'elevage et de la pisciculture) – The enrivonment (de l'environnement) – Other specific sujects according to requests from groups (et sur des sujets specifiques à la demande de certains groupes)

PREVENTION (LA PREVENTION) While their mother is gone for all day to work in her garden the children have beans to cook for themselves at home even when she is gone. – Au moment de recupération des semences certaines mamans ne pouvaient pas le faire car toute la semence a ete consommee par les enfants parce que la maman quand elle va au champ, elle ne revient que le soir et les enfants preparent les haricots a l'absence des mamans.

11 5. THE TARGET GROUP (GROUPE CIBLE) CEFA is interested in everyone, even the minorities CEFA s'interesse à tout le monde meme les minorités – Muslims (Cas des musulmans) – The Bayaka who are considered less than human (Les bayaka qui sont considérés comme des sous hommes)

12 6) THE CHALLENGES (LES DEFIS) The level of illiteracy is very high Le taux d'analphebisme est tres tres elevé dans nos communaut é There are numerous people who are not open to development Les refractaires sont nombreux. The roads are degraded Les pistes sont très dégradées How to engage the Muslim and Christian communities to rise above what which has divided them and accept to forgive each other Comment amener les communautés musulmanes et chretiennes a surmonter ce qui les a divisé et d'accepter de se pardonner True reconciliation Et de parvenir à une veritable reconciliation. To give hope and place all our confidence in God who is our Master in all situations De donner l'espoir en placant toute nos confiance en Dieu qui est Maitre de toute situation. How to prepare to welcome back those who wish to return to their old villages? Comment se préparer pour accueillir ceux qui souhaitéraient revenir dans leur ancienne communauté? How to work on development when there is no peace? Comment faire le développement pendant que la paix manque?
