69 69 THE DND/VAC PASTORAL OUTREACH PROGRAM This program provides Pastoral Care to retired members and their families when they do not have access to civilian churches and/or clergy. It utilizes a national network of retired military Padres, Canadian Legion Chaplains and civilian officiating clergy. It provides a swift pastoral response in situations where members are experiencing dying, death, funerals, and bereavement. However the service is not restricted to this area alone. Between 1 Oct 2003 and 31 May 2007: 206 clergy have been recruited as potential chaplains

Il utilise un réseau national d’anciens aumôniers des FC, des aumôniers de la Légion royale canadienne et membres civils du clergé. Bien qu’il soit principalement conçu pour appuyer les militaires retraités confrontés à des situations de, c-a-d, la mort, les funérailles, le deuil, etc… il n’est pas pour autant limité à ce genre de questions. Entre le 1 octobre 2003 et le 31 mai 2007 206 membres du clergé ont été recrutés comme aumôniers potentiels.

71 71 NATIONAL MILITARY CEMETERY OF THE CANADIAN FORCES All serving and honourably released members of the Canadian Forces and Canada’s Merchant Navy are eligible to be interred in the NMC, and also one designated family member may be interred in the same plot.
