3 Adjectives Adjectives are describing words. See if you can pick out the adjectives in this sentence: J’habite une grande maison blanche dans une petite ville industrielle dans le sud de la France. Je vais dans une école catholique, les cours sont intéressants et les profs sont sympas. A la cantine les repas ne sont pas très bons.

17 SUPERLATIVES Saying who is the smallest/ biggest /most intelligent ect… It is called the superlative because the people/things described are the best/biggest/smallest in a group – (the rules of agreement still apply) Examples: Christiane est la plus marrante = Christiane is the funniest Antoine est le plus gentil de la classe = Antoine is the kindest in the class Stéphanie est la plus paresseuse du collège = Stéphanie is the laziest in the school

18 Christiane est la plus marrante In French we use the words LE/LA PLUS + ADJECTIVE le (masculine) or la (feminine) Antoine est de la classe le plus gentil Antoine is a boy so you use LE PLUS + adjective Christiane is a girl so it LA PLUS + adjective
