Produits Diagnostiques In Vitro (IVDs*). Non assujetti a la politique Ex: Gants, seringues, réactifs, tubes a essai GHTF : Any product for general laboratory use not manufactured, sold or represented for use in specified in vitro diagnostic applications are not deemed to be IVD medical devices.

The objectives of strengthening the existing Price Reporting Mechanism (PRM) were to enhance the completeness and quality of self-reported data as an essential foundation of sound market dynamics and procurement practice and (ii) to facilitate compliance with existing requirements that recipients report procurement data for the relevant health products. for PR’s bargaining position when negotiating price and delivery conditions Reliable reporting on quality assured products procured with Global Fund funds Monitoring QA Policy compliance Monitoring of supplier / vendor performance Basis for stakeholders to develop long-term demand forecasts

Product Category Total Product Cost (USD) Bednet $863,800,266 Anti-Retroviral $816,509,939 Anti-Malaria Medicine $145,187,211 Diagnostic test $135,067,022 Anti-TB Medicine $124,169,159 Condom $37,407,498 Grand Total $2,122,141,095 1 extraits PQR 2 Avril 2012

27 Monitoring des prix: les évolutions
Working to better understand and explain outliers and add <assignable cause>

Same profile with other medicines in middle income countries On the contrary, there is no such variation the least developed countries. There is a large variation of prices paid by countries even for those with a similar socioeconomic status. Data from PQR for all Purchase Orders placed after 1 July 2009 (Q Present). At the upper part of the graph, those countries purchasing only originator, and excluded from the discounted price from the originator company, or , as in this case for Abbott LPV/r, eligible only for a second level of discount. Those close to median (to int ref price) are eligible for first discount from the company (Africa and LDCs) and/or purchase the generic. Please, if case of questions: Jordan is bit bizarre case, as should be paying the 1,000 US$ (only 30 patients. Maybe that is the reason) Some of these countries are now able to purchase the generic product at less than half the price of the originator as they have implemented tRIPS flexibilities, or because there was no patent in their countries for the given product . Red: MSF ref price around 400 Black line: median of GF recipients around 400 Upper middle countries excluded from tiered pricing policy originator

There are cases where high prices are not linked with patents (local determinants of price, emergency procurement, registration issues,…) But in many cases, countries cannot choose to purchase the lowest priced version because of patents. Or cannot use the FDC (Example of lack of FDCs: china with lamivudine patents , expiring in one month) or improved, solid, forms for children produced only by the generic industry. China: brevet on Lamivudine prevent procurement FDC, that contains 3TC Voluntary License policies ; by companies that allow only production
