Faire + Infinitif I make my friends laugh.
(Also called FAIRE CAUSATIF) In a causative construction, the subject does not perform the action, but has it performed by someone else. I make my friends laugh.

constructions. to make / have someone do something to have something done In French, these are both expressed by: faire + infinitif

Mes amis rient. Je fais rire mes amis. (I make my friends laugh.) (to have something done) Ma voiture est lavée. Je fais laver ma voiture. (I have my car washed.)

The contruction FAIRE + INFINITIF can be used
any tense / mood. Est-ce que vous avez fait laver votre voiture? Le professeur fera étudier les élèves.

The actor / agent / person / thing acted upon are
the OBJECTS of the construction. As nouns, they come after the infinitive, as pronouns they come before faire.

In compound tenses there is NO
AGREEMENT with the past participle and the preceding direct object. J‘ai fait réparer ma montre. Je l‘ai fait réparer.
