**Object Pronouns are used to replace a noun or pronoun. The words in heavy type are called OBJECT PRONOUNS. Note the form and position of these pronouns in the sentences below. —Tu me parles? Are you talking to me? —Oui, je te parle! Yes, I’m talking to you! —Tu nous invites au concert? Are you inviting us to the concert? —Oui, je vous invite. Yes, I’m inviting you.

Rewrite the sentences using object pronouns in place of the underlined phrase: me, te, nous, vous ex: Je donne des devoirs à vous. Je vous donne des devoirs. Luc présente sa petite amie à nous. Luc nous présente sa petite amie. Sophie ne montre pas ses devoirs à moi. Sophie ne me montre pas ses devoirs. Michèle prête dix dollars à toi. Michèle te prête dix dollars.

In AFFIRMATIVE commands, the object pronoun comes AFTER the verb and is attached with a hyphen. Note: me becomes moi and te becomes toi. In NEGATIVE commands, the object pronoun comes BEFORE the verb.

10 Les pronoms me, te, nous, vous à l’infinitif
In an infinitive construction, the object pronoun comes immediately BEFORE the infinitive. SUBJECT AND VERB OBJECT PRONOUN INFINITIVE … Je vais te téléphoner demain. Je ne peux pas vous inviter dimanche.

Note the position of the object pronouns when used with an infinitive. —Tu vas m’inviter au concert? Are you going to invite me to the concert? —Bien sûr, je vais t’inviter. Of course I’m going to invite you. —Tu peux nous prêter 20 euros? Can you lend us 20 euros? —Non, je ne peux pas vous prêter No, I cannot lend you 20 euros. 20 euros.
