6 Strategic International Cooperative Program (SICP) Overview Based on agreements between the governments of both countries MEXT decides which country and research field to cooperate JST Supports expenses of joint research projects (small-scale), personnel exchanges (travel), holding of meetings, etc Budget for Japanese side: about 5 million JPY (about 30,000EUR) / project / year (for 3 years) Schematic

7 Objectives To promote international exchanges between researchers on specific research areas by  implementing cooperative researches of relatively small-scale,  personnel exchanges, i.e., invitations and dispatches, and  holding meetings such as symposiums and workshops. Strategic International Cooperative Program (SICP) Schema 1) JST cooperates with appropriate funding agency of counterpart country for assisting internationally cooperative research activities. 2) JST and counterpart agency call for proposals separately in each country and select projects jointly. 3) JST funds Japanese researchers and counterpart agency does its ones.

12 Promotion de la diffusion de l’information scientifique et technique Mise en place d’un socle assurant la diffusion des informations relatives aux recherches et développements (littérature scientifique et technologique, chercheurs, organismes de recherche, etc.) Base de données mise gratuitement à disposition par la JST Données bibliographiques J-EAST (Gratuit) Base de données en langue anglaise donnant des informations bibliographiques sur la littérature et les articles scientifiques et technologiques publiés au Japon, ainsi que leurs résumés. J-STAGE (Partiellement gratuit) Publication des journaux électroniques édités par les Sociétés savantes japonaises (Japanese Academic Societies). Chacun peut y trouver et consulter les textes intégraux des thèses publiées. Brevets et informations technologiques J-STORE (Gratuit) Base de donnée gratuite présentant des « graines innovantes » et des informations sur les brevets disponibles, pouvant être l’objet de licences, déposés par les universités, les organismes publics de recherche, la JST ou autres organismes, y compris les brevets non encore publiés. Recherche ReaD (Gratuit) Informations gratuites, essentiellement centrées sur les organismes japonais de recherche, les chercheurs, les sujets de recherche et les ressources de recherche. Chercheurs, offres d’emploi JREC-IN (Gratuit) Site gratuit proposant, au Japon, des offres d’emploi et des demandes de postes dans les secteurs de la recherche. Secteur de la bio-informatique BIRD (Gratuit) Base de donnée présentant les aides et les résultats des recherches de l’Institut pour la recherche et le développement de la bio- informatique (Institute for Bioinformatics Research and Development). Programme de développement d’une base de données sur la Recherche (Gratuit) (Database Development Program) Développement et mise à disposition gratuite d’une base de données partagée par la JST et les organismes de recherche, pour la promotion de la circulation des données de recherches et d’expérimentations détenues ou collectées par les organismes de recherche pour le partage du patrimoine intellectuel dans les domaines des sciences de la vie et du vivant, des substances et matériaux, de l’environnement, de la sécurité et catastrophes naturelles.
