Comment écrire la date en français... Writing the date is not difficult in French, but there are a few points to remember. French does not use the ordinal number, except for the first of the month; for the rest, just use the normal, cardinal number. C’est le premier janvier. It’s the first of January. C’est le deux février. It’s the second of February. C’est le vingt mars. It’s the twentieth of March. If you use the day, drop the ‘le’. C’est mardi, neuf avril. It’s Tuesday the ninth of April.
