De plus, il place tout en haut dun amas de pierre une croix et un aigle sanguinolent, deux symboles qui représentent lAllemagne, une Allemagne dominatrice mais blessée et bientôt rattrapée par un soldat français. La représentation du français seul sur les pierres contre cinq Allemands qui le suivent simplifie d'autant plus l'idée de gagner cette guerre. Le français a lair dêtre sûr de lui et nettement plus déterminé que les allemands le sont. LAllemagne serait donc sur le point de perdre sa place.
