The pronouns me, te, nous, and vous are often used as objects of verbs. Look at the following sentences: Le chien me mord. Je tinvite à la fête.

In the sentence below the pronoun me is the direct object of the verb because it is receiving the action of the verb. Le chien me mord.

In the sentence below t (te) is the direct object of the verb invite because it receives the action of the verb. Je tinvite à la fête.

La prof voudrait vous enseigner le français. The pronoun vous is the object of the infinitive enseigner.

In the sentence below, te is the object of the infinitive parler.

Notice that the object pronoun te is not inside the negative (ne…..pas) verb phrase. The pronoun te is outside the negation, next to the infinitive parler. Elle ne veut pas te parler.

Look at the following sentences: Madame Cook vous enseigne le français. Mes parents me donne de largent pour le voyage. La prof nous presente le nouveau vocabulaire.

What is the English translation of these object pronouns? Me=me nous=us Te=you (singular) vous= you (plural or formal) Look at the translations of the following sentences: 1.Il me parle. He is talking to me. 2.Je tinvite au cinéma. I am inviting you to the movies.
