Le verbe aller au présent 1. The verb aller (to go) is an irregular verb. Study the following forms. ALLER je vais nous allons tu vas vous allez il/elle/on va ils/elles vont Je vais au café, mais mes parents vont au restaurant. Tu vas au restaurant avec des copains? Vous y allez en bus?

Le verbe aller au présent 2. If you do not mention the place you are going to, you must put the word y before the verb aller. Y refers to a place already mentioned. Aller cannot stand alone. Tu vas au café? Oui, j’y vais et Laurent y va aussi.
