Les Adjectifs descriptifs In French, most adjectives agree in gender and number with the nouns they describe. Most adjctives form the feminine by adding a silent –e to the end of the masculine form, unless one is already there. Adding a silent final –s to the masculine and feminine forms gives you the plural forms of both. Julien est impatient Margot est impatiente Julien et Marc sont impatients. The adjective « châtain » is generally used only for hair color, and it’s a lighter shade than BRUN Ex: Ma mère a les cheveux châtains The adjective BRUN is only used only for hair color, never for brown eyes Ex: Elle a les cheveux bruns et les yeux marron.
