As you describe the relationships keep repeating the key words as you point to the different family members and show visually how they are related to each other. You can re-cap with the class to make sure that they are with you. We can’t expect them to retain all 8 (16) words at this stage but they will hear them a lot and understand them and practise saying them with you. (perhaps 15 minutes whole class work here)
