By now you've probably noticed something about how adjectives work in French.... The adjective is spelled (and pronounced) differently depending on whether it is describing a masculine or feminine person or thing. Often, the feminine form of an adjective is created by adding an "e" to the masculine form.

Gale est brun...

mais Katniss est brune.

But of course that isn't always how it works... Sometimes the adjective stays the same, regardless of the gender of the noun it is describing!

Bashful est timide...

et elle est timide...

Il est mince...

et elle est mince aussi.

Adjectives that end with an "f" in the masculine form often change to ending in "ve" Il est créatif...

mais elle est créative!

Il est sportif...

Elle est sportive...

When the adjective ends in "x" in the masculine, it often changes to "se" in the feminine... Santa est généreux... est Oprah est généreuse...

Il est sérieux...

et elle est sérieuse!

Il est paresseux.

Elle est paresseuse.

This one's a little teeny bit different... Prince Harry est roux... Emma Stone est rousse! there's an extra "s" on this one...
