opinions I love - j’adore I like - j’aime I hate - j’deteste I prefer - je préfère I don’t like - je n’aime pas because it is - parce que c’est eg. J’adore le sport et je n’aime pas les maths. J’aime l’art dramatique mais je préfère le dessin parce que c’est amusant.

Time! Whole/round number = à .... heures. quarter past = à .... heures et quart. half past = à .... heures et demie. quarter to = à .... heures et moins quart. a certain amount of mins past = à .... heures .... midday = midi midnight = minuit

Past tense and present I play - je joue I played - j’ai joué I do - je fais I did - j’ai fait when there is an e with an accent that’s when you pronounce it. j’ai is the word used for I when it used in past tense je is the word used for i in the present tense.

Everyday activities je me lève - I get up je ma lave - I have a wash je fais mes devoirs - I do my homework je dîne - I have dinner je rentre à la maison - I go home je m’habille – I get dressed je me couche - I go to bed j’arrive à école - I arrive at school je prends mon petit déjeuner – I have breakfast je regarde la télé - I watch television

When to do things ...... plus tard - ..... later eg. dix minuits plus tard - 10 mins later .... heures plus tard - ..... later. eg. une demi heures plus tard - half an hour later d’habitude - normally (normalement) après ca - afterwards/after that aussitôt que possible - as soon as possible
