 You must use either Etre or Avoir (the auxiliary verb) and then the past participle of the action verb.  The verbs that use Etre as the auxiliary verb are in the house of Etre and are known as ‘vandertramps’.  All other verbs use Avoir as their Auxiliary verb. How to Form the Passé Composé
