Grammar – Direct Object Pronouns Direct object pronouns replace nouns. Pronoun from the Latin pronominum in place of a noun. Direct Object meaning the thing/person which you are referring to. Here are the following options and what they mean: Le/l’ – it/him E.g. Je le connais très bien – I know him very well La/l’ – it/her E.g. Je ne la vois pas – I see her/it Les – them E.g. Je les porte – I am wearing them

Elle l’a trouvé intéressant. Ils les ont finis. Extension When DOP are used with the passé composé the past participle has to agree with what they are referring to. E.g. Les filles? Je les ai vues – The girls I saw them. Replace the nouns with DOP in the following sentences: J’ai mangé les fraises (f. pl). Il a regardé la télé. Nous avons porté des chaussettes (f. pl). Elle a trouvé le film intéressant. Ils ont finis les devoirs (m. pl.). Je les ai mangées. Il l’a regardée. Nous les avons portées. Elle l’a trouvé intéressant. Ils les ont finis.
