SI et QUAND

Back to the past: Si et Quand Si and Quand are not terms you’ve never used before. In English, we use If and When in the same ways they are used in French. If you remind me, I will go When you behave, I will take you.

Si Clause: Present

Si Clauses + Present Si Clauses are used when the condition has a possibility of being executed.

Si clause + Imparfait Si clause Result clause Si + Imparfait Conditionnel present

Si Clause + Imparfait Imperfect+ conditional present The Si-clause in the imperfect is different from that of the present. Instead of proposing a possibility if something occurring, it suggests the impossibilities in the result clause. Whenever the si-clause consists of the imperfect the result-clause will be in the present conditional.

Si Clause+Plus-que-parfait The Si-clause with Plus-Que-Parfait results in the past conditional and, unlike the imperfect, it states the possibilities in the past.

Quand : Usage Quand similar to the Si-clause differs in that it uses the Future Antérieur to express an action in the future that precedes another future action.
