2 steps to putting a verb in the past tense

Step 1 Conjugate avoir j’ai tu as il a, nous avons vous avez ils ont

Step 2 Change the infinitive of the verb (the unconjugated form of the verb you see in brackets) to the past participle. Danser  dansé Finir  fini Entendre  entendu

In the end, you will have J’ai dansé Tu as fini Nous avons entendu Etc.
