3 Les français ont colonisé le continent nord américain de 1534 à 1759. Cette colonie s’appelait «La nouvelle France».

4 Les français ont perdu leur colonie nord-américaine aux anglais en 1763 (Le traité de Paris) Les habitants ont continué à parler français après la conquête anglaise en 1763, et ils parlent français encore. Depuis 1974 le français est la langue officielle du Québec.

5 Le Québec est une des 10 provinces du Canada. Il y a aussi 3 territoires. Le gouvernement fédéral est blingue (anglais-français).
