2 In order to reach the learning objective and be able to book a hotel room in France. We will… 1.Work out what we already know by thinking of questions we could ask, making sure we all have the vocabulary we need 2.We will then look at some useful questions to ask the receptionist and make notes on our handouts 3.Then we will listen to an example of a possible conversation between a receptionist and a person looking for a hotel room 4.At the end of the lesson you will practise your own con- versations in a speed dating style

7 Avez-vous une chambre libre, s’il vous plaît? Oui, quelle sorte de chambre voulez-vous? Je voudrais une chambre pour deux personnes avec salle de bains et un grand lit. Pour combien de nuits? Pour trois nuits. Oui, nous avons une chambre libre. C’est combien la nuit? C’est 30 euros la nuit. Très bien. Est-ce qu’il y a un restaurant? Oui, c’est à côté de la piscine. Et le petit déjeuner est à quelle heure? Le petit déjeuner est à partir de sept heures jusqu’à dix heures. Veuillez vous réserver la chambre, s’il vous plaît.

8 Imagine you are booking a hotel in France. Some of you will be customers and some will be receptionists. CUSTOMERS You are trying to find a hotel that matches your requirements! 1.If you are a customer you will find these prompts on your card: Type of hotel, cost, type of room, arrival, length of stay, facilities required – here you can fill in your own choice of three or more if you want a challenge 2.Your task is to find the hotel that fits your requirements. Ask as many questions as possible. RECEPTIONISTS You are trying to find a customer that wants what your hotel has to offer! 1.If you are a receptionist you will have to find out the customer’s name, what date they arrive, how long they stay, what type of room they require and for how many people. The information about your hotel is on your card.  You now have 3 minutes to look up the vocabulary and annotate your prompt card with the translations. THEN:  Customers – write a list of the questions you need to ask  Receptionists – write a list of the questions you will need to ask the customer ‘Find out’. 20 minutes
