Noël en France Dans la France, Noël est partagé parmi les amis et la famille. La veille de Noël, les enfants mettent des sabots pour que Père Noël puisse y mettre des bonbons et des jouets.

Noël en France, cont. Père Noël (Father Christmas) met les surprises dans les sabots. Il est similaire à notre Santa Claus.

Noël en Espagne En Espagne – Spain – Christmas is still mainly a religious holiday. It is a time for worship and for family. There is not such a commercial tradition surrounding Christmas. On January 6, Spanish children receive presents from the Three Wise Men – not Santa Claus or Père Noël.

Fête d’Indépendence en Mexique On September 16, 1810, a man names Dolores called his townspeople to arms to rise up against the British Crown. Now, people celebrate on September 16. On the night before, the President of Mexico comes out onto his balcony and leads a rousing shout of “Viva Mexico!”

Fête de St. Patrice en Irlande St Patrick’s day is celebrated in Ireland with parades and parties. People are supposed to “wear the green” – wear a shamrock on their clothes – to remind everyone that St Patrick explained the Holy Trinity to pagans using the three leaves of the shamrock.
