1 Opening and closing times How to say when a place opens, what time it closes and which days it is open.

2 Giving information in the tourist office During your speaking assessment you will be expected to give information about the opening times of places in a town. All of you will be able to give simple times, most of you should be able to use the 24 hour clock and some of you will include extra phrases about a place being closed for a particular reason or on a particular day.

3 Places in town With a partner list all the places you can think of that you might want to visit in a town.

6 Using the 24 hour clock Remember its very easy to use the 24 hour clock because all you have to do is say what you see: 13.30 = treize heures trente 20.45 = vingt heures quarante-cinq 16.15 = seize heures quinze 09.10 = neuf heures dix
