Infrastructures Working Group Meeting - Brussels, 13 October 2009 5 Port categories / Catégories des ports Port maritime de catégorie A, port dont: - le volume annuel total du trafic est égal ou supérieur à 1,5 million de tonnes de fret ou à 200 000 passagers, ou - port qui est appelé à jouer un rôle majeur pour le transport maritime international. Port maritime de catégorie B, port dont: - le volume annuel total du trafic est compris entre 0,5 million et 1,5 million de tonnes de fret, ou - le volume annuel total du trafic est compris entre 100 000 et 199 999 passagers. Port maritime de catégorie C: port appartenant au système portuaire national qui ne répond pas aux critères des deux catégories précédentes. Category A ports, all ports with a: - total annual traffic volume of not less than 1.5 million tones of freight or 200,000 passengers, or - any port which is call to play a major role in international maritime transport Category B ports, all ports with a: - total annual traffic volume between 0.5 million and 1.5 million tones of freight, or - total annual traffic volume between 100,000 and 199,999 passenger movement Category C ports: port inside a port national system which do not fit with the criteria of the previous categories

Infrastructures Working Group Meeting - Brussels, 13 October 2009 7 Airport categories / Catégories des aéroports Category A airports, all airports or airport systems with a: - total annual traffic volume no less than 5,000,000 passengers (-10 %), or - total annual traffic volume no less than 100,000 commercial aircraft movements, or - total annual traffic volume no less than 1,000,000 international passengers, or - total annual traffic volume no less than 150,000 tonnes, or - any new airport constructed to replace an existing international connecting point which cannot be developed further on its site. Category B airports, all airports or airport systems with a: - total annual traffic volume between 1,000,000 (-10 %) and 4,499,999 passengers, or - total annual traffic volume between 50,000 and 149,000 tonnes, or - total annual traffic volume between 500,000 and 899,999 passengers, of which at least 30 % are no-national, or - any new airport constructed to replace an existing international connecting point which cannot be developed further on its site. Category C airports: airport inside national airport system which do not fit with the criteria of the previous categories.
