of forest biodiversity Future of Mediterranean forests: biodiversity dynamic and evolution, water uptake and carbon balance, ecological impact of forest fires, multi-disciplinary expertise in biology (trees, insects), environmental sciences, spatial statistics, modelling; long term experimental sites & observatories participant NoE- EVOLTREE (Intensive Study Sites, ISS)‏ co-coord. IP- FIRE-PARADOX member-EFIMED: EVOLTREE : - titre = EVOLution of TREEs as drivers of terrestrial biodiversity - on coordonne le réseau de 7 ISS couvrant les différents types de forêt en Europe, de la forêt boréale à la forêt méditerranéenne (Ventoux), enjeu = intégration de divers projets de recherche à l'échelle du massif forestier, objectif long terme - en plus de ce qu'on fait on a des liens avec labos travaillant sur mycorrhizes + ajouter autres composantes bio du sol pour approche climat + sol (dont biodiv) + arbres + insectes? EFIMED: - European Forest Institute, regional office for the Mediterranean - coordonne un projet FP7 REGPOT (AdvancinG Mediterranean FOrest Research Capacities =Nord-Sud), vont sans doute proposer un projet d'ERA-Net

3 Contribution to Increasing the understanding of the role of soil biodiversity in ecosystem functioning Impacts of extreme climatic events (drought, heat, water excess) and waste input on soil microbial community in mediterranean context: microbial biodiversity and function, Biogeochemical cycles, Bacteria transport.
