The “ne _____ pas” sandwich: place ne* before the conjugated verb and pas after it Ne = the first slice of bread The conjugated verb = the meat pas = the second slice of bread Exemple: Il ne nage pas. *ne becomes n’ before a vowel sound: Je n’aime pas étudier.

How do I make questions in French?
We already know 2 ways. What are they? Use the tone of your voice / add a question mark to the end of the sentence. Exemple: Tu aimes les sciences ? 2. Use est-ce que* at the beginning of the sentence Exemple: Est-ce que tu aimes les sciences ? *Est-ce que becomes est-ce qu’ before a vowel sound

Two more ways… 3. Add a tag question such as d’accord?, oui?, non?, n’est-ce pas? Exemple: Nous mangeons à la cantine, n’est-ce pas ? 4. Inversion: switch the order of the subject and verb and add a hyphen. It will now be verb-subject. Exemples: Parles-tu français ? Est-elle élève ?
