5 Singular / Plural If you want to say you have more than one pet, you
usually add an s unless the word already ends in s. Singular Plural un chien › 2 chiens un chat > 2 chats With words which end in eau, you add x un oiseau › 2 oiseaux

6 Descriptions If you want to describe a pet, you add an adjective.
Usually these go after the noun in French except for adjectives which describe size (grand= big, petit = small) un chien noir a black dog un chat marron a brown cat un petit chien a small dog un grand chat a big cat CAREFUL! A feminine noun needs a feminine adjective! un chien noir a black dog une poule noire a black hen
