Ordinal Numbers Cardinal Numbers: one two three four, etc.
un deux trois quatre, etc. Ordinal Numbers Ordinal numbers are used to indicate the order of something. 1st 2nd 3rd 4th , etc. 1er /1ère 2e 3e 4e, etc.

To form ordinal numbers:
place –ième at the end of the cardinal number. deux deuxième trois troisième vingt vingtième That’s it! Exceptions: If the cardinal number ends in –e, remove the –e before adding the –ième. quatre quatrième onze onzième cinq cinquième neuf neuvième un premier/première BUT!!! 31 = trente et unième. (NOT trente et premier)
