3 DEPUIS QUAND…et le present
Depuis quand is used with the present tense always. It means “since when…” and in your answer you should indicate the starting point, that when the action actually started. Notice the action is going on in the present! Depuis quand sais-tu conduire? Since when do you know how to drive? Je sais conduire depuis 2000. 2000 2003 2001 2004 2005 2002

4 Depuis combien de temps..?
Combien de temps is used with present tense also but focuses on duration, length of time something is done. Depuis combien de temps travailles-tu au restaurant mexicain? J’y travaille depuis 3 ans. (s/he is still working there) 2005 2002

5 Pendant… Pendant is used with passe compose!
It means “for”, pendant combien de temps: for how long? The action is OVER. It belongs in the PAST where it ended at a specific time, point. Pendant combien de temps as-tu fait ton voyage en Europe Gertrude? Pendant six semaines. (she is back in the States now!)

6 Depuis quand est-ce qu'il fait sa pyramide?
