There has been quite a number of telephone feature enhancements and we are going to go over them in detail so everybody has a clear idea how the new telephones operate in the new Strata CTX. Finally we are also going to take a look at the BRAND new PC Attendant Console. This has been redesigned from the ground up and offers some exciting new features. The Complete Toshiba eXperience

The 3000-series digital telephones offer modern, contemporary styling, and provide various models and capabilities to meet a variety of needs. DKT3014-SDL Our first new model is the DKT3014SDL, the Large Screen Display Telephone. It comes equipped with the usual keys such as Hold, conference, and last number redial. The Complete Toshiba eXperience

The other 12 keys vary depending on the call state of the telephone. From the idle screen you can access telephone directories and speed dial lists. This offers users great functionality in finding frequently dialed numbers or even dialing internal extensions Voice Mail soft key functionality is available on all models including the DKT2000 series telephones but provides the greatest ease of use on the large screen display as users can access all of the capabilities of their voice mail via the display. So lets take a look at the directory dial capabilities a little further. One way to use it is: Press the DIRECT SS soft key to view the first screen. To select someone from the list, press the soft key next to their name. The system calls that number and displays it’s directory information. To view the following pages, press the MORE soft key; press PREVIOUS to page back. Names appear as softkeys on the large screen with 8 names per screen and with capability to see more names or get back to a previous screen. There are two different name categories to choose from: Directory Number Name, Speed Dial Name As well a name search can be done by either scrolling or by using the find feature. Another feature enhancement which will be discussed further in subsequent presentations is the voice mail soft key interaction. As you can see the user has a variety of choices while they are listening to their voice mail messages. They can skip the message,save, delete, replay, forward, etc. all by pressing the appropriate soft key. The Complete Toshiba eXperience

Only available on the DK3014 is an integrated tilt display to adjust the angle. Various settings can be selected for optimum viewing, satisfying everyone’s needs. On all DKT2000 and DKT3000 series there is also an optional adjustable tilt stand. We will discuss this new enhancement in the coming slides. The Complete Toshiba eXperience

DKT3020-SD The other change is in the 20 button display phone in that we have expanded the display from the current 16 characters to 24. The wider 24-character x 2-line LCD makes more information available to the user. The LCD is indented to go with the rounder design, and is angled up for optimum viewing. Of course this also adds an additional soft key under the display. The Complete Toshiba eXperience

DKT3010-SD The DKT3010-SD rounds out our display line up and it has also been enhanced with the larger display and an additional soft key. As well, all the sets incorporate a dedicated speed dial key located just above the redial key. Yes, we filled in the gap and it’s no longer required to have a button dedicated as your System Speed Dial Key. The Complete Toshiba eXperience

DKT3020 avec SDPN We have also rounded out our DSS Console and our Add on Module to match the new look and footprint of the new telephones. The DDSS3060 consoles are for system operators. They operate alongside a digital telephone and have 60 keys which can be programmed for DSS, CO line access, All Call Page, Night Transfer, and Station or System Speed Dial. DSS consoles do not have their own [DNs], since they are connected to a telephone. The DDSS3060 console connects to a digital station port on the BDKU or PDKU card. Finally, the CTX supports up to 16 DSS Consoles with up to 8 supported on one phone. On the Strata DK you could only support 4 consoles per phone. The Complete Toshiba eXperience

First of all, the CTX now shows distinctive LED indication of telephones. If a phone is idle the LED is off. If the user is in DND then the LED blinks Red, slow on and off. If a phone is ringing then the LED blinks short Red bursts. And finally if a phone is busy it will be a steady Red. This is an enhancement over the Strata DK/DKi as the LED was always a solid Red if in DND or in a busy state. This indication now allows the receptionist to know when a person is on the phone or is just busy and thus if they are just busy they can override DND. Previously, they had no indication. Console users can also set DND remotely via an access code on any phone. This is great for Boss/Secretary arrangements where someone might have forgotten to turn their DND off. Any feature, line or DN key can be programmed on the DSS or ADM. The Strata DK/DKi did not allow feature or DN keys. This capability increases the value of a DSS console or ADM as all the keys on the phone and DSS/ADM can be programmed for whatever feature or capability that the users requires. As well DSS consoles can be assigned to any port on a Strata CTX. This offers increased flexibility in configurations and installations. With the Strata DK/DKi they could only be configured on the last port of a digital station card. The Complete Toshiba eXperience

DKT3001 Here is a look at a the digital single line set with the new curved look. The DKT3001 features a programmable Flex key. This was added to the fixed button group in place of a Redial key, to provide expanded flexibility. The Flex key can be programmed as a Redial, DN appearance, line appearance, or any feature, thus offering more value to the single line model. The new DKT3001 offers considerable enhancements over the DKT The dedicated speed dial eliminates users from making the choice of do I want to have access to voice mail or speed dials. The USB connection provides faster more positive call control for better CTI integration and provides a direct speech path connection directly to a PC via Media Streaming with TAPI 3.0. A Software Developers Kit (SDK) will be provided for outside vendors to make their applications work in an “open architecture.” The system CTI link uses the system 10-baseT LAN connection between the Strata CTX and external application server and requires a CSTA license for activation. When the telephone is set to headset mode, both the headset and handset are activated. There is no switch to toggle between the headset and handset, but an external switch is available from GN Netcom. The BHEU features a built-in amplifier, eliminating the need for costly external headset amplifiers (usually about $150). As well, the headsets now feature automatic detection between carbon and electret headsets eliminating the need for cutting of the strap on the telephone. Speaker Off-Hook Call Announce ability is obtained by adding the BVSU PCB inside the telephone. The Complete Toshiba eXperience

It attaches to the base of the telephone. The adjustable tilt base option is compatible with all 3000-series telephone models and is also compatible with 2000-series telephones. Two models of desktop telephone tilt stands are available. The BTSD telephone tilt stand attaches to the base of any or 2000-series telephone. The BTSA tilt stands support digital telephones with one or two Add-on modules. Both types of tilt stands can adjust to five different angles. The Complete Toshiba eXperience

Pressing the page key toggles through the various idle displays. With the Strata DK the display always reverted to the call forward display after making a call. The user can turn the call waiting tone, speakerphone room noise sensitivity and button beep tone on or off. The LCD has a 16-level contrast adjustment to optimize display viewing to room and lighting conditions. Adjustments are easy—just press the Mic key, while holding down the Vol Up/Down key. These features on the 2000 series telephones were programmed by dip switch settings under the flexible feature keys on the telephone. The user can change the keys function by entering a new feature code. Once the codes are stored under these keys, complex or multiple feature steps can be accessed by pressing a single key. One Touch keys, which can record a series of numbers, work similarly to User Programmable keys, but User Programmable keys are designed especially for use with feature codes. Call forward programming Station users can set their individual call forwarding as they choose. Forwarding conditions include Busy, No Answer, Busy/No Answer, and All Calls. Station forwarding has priority over the system wide forwarding default condition, if set. As well, once you have set your ring no answer timer it stays set and you never have to renter it. Station users can also set their stations to forward incoming calls on private, DID lines or transferred calls to numbers outside the Strata CTX670 system. The forwarding destination can be cancelled or changed to another outside number or an internal voice mailbox either remotely via DISA or from the user’s telephone. However, unlike the Strata DK call forward external is not restricted to calls ringing in on private or DID Lines. The Complete Toshiba eXperience

When this key is pressed, the stored number is dialed or the feature is accessed. You can store frequently dialed numbers, such as the three-digit System Speed Dial codes, onto a One Touch key. This eliminates the need to enter the three-digit code to dial a System Speed Dial number. These keys make it easy to access features that usually require pressing multiple keys and/or dialing special access codes. For example, a user may have to dial an access code plus a zone number to page the warehouse. This sequence can be set on a One Touch key labeled “Page Warehouse.” Another key can be set to page a particular group of telephones. The One Touch key also has a “stop” function that can be entered between two numbers, such as a telephone number and security code. When the One Touch key is pressed, it can speed dial a telephone number, then pause (LED flashes). When the call is answered, it prompts for a security code. The user can then press the flashing key and enter the security code. Any number of “stops” can be set to enable dialing multiple numbers. These keys offer more flexibility than the DK Station Speed Dial Keys as they are more like Macro keys where users can put custom operations on one key. The Complete Toshiba eXperience

Typically, multiple sounds are used to provide this distinction. Strata CTX offers four different tones. Three of the tones are different pitches of a common sound and a fourth, a combination sound, is provided for a very distinguishable sound. Distinctive ringing can be assigned to each Line or [DN] button on each telephone. Four distinct tones can sound when the line rings with incoming outside line calls. Internal and transferred calls have another unique tone that applies to all keys on all telephones. This is an enhancement over the Strata DK/DKi as users could only distinguish between ringing stations in close proximity and not multiple lines or DN’s on their own phone. Great for users who answer calls for multiple people or service multiple lines like shared secretaries. The other big benefit is that this is user programmable and not required to be programmed by the system administrator or technician. The Complete Toshiba eXperience

The station can be programmed to automatically select a CO line, Primary Directory Number (PDN), PhDN, etc., when the dial pad is pressed while the station is idle. This saves a keystroke by not requiring the station user to press a DN or CO line key to begin on-hook dialing. On-hook dialing saves time by not requiring the station user to lift the handset to begin dialing. Previous operation required user to press the line key or Prime DN and dial 9 to start a call. Speakerphone Press the Spkr key and hang up the hand set. Previous operation required user to press-and-hold down speaker key simultaneously while hanging up handset. Auto release - When your on the speakerphone and the other party hangs up, the line will disconnect and the phone will go to the idle state. Users no longer have to press the SPKR key to hang up. Previously, if the user did not press the speaker key the phone would send a busy tone for 15 seconds. And as we mentioned earlier there is now a Fixed Speed Dial Key on all the DKT3000 Telephones. The system offers the additional flexibility of being able to assign door phones on any port in the system. This was a restriction in the Strata DK/DKi as specific ports were required for connection of door phones. As well, when door phones are being called or when calling a door phone the name of the door phone now displays on the LCD. Previously, only the thing that was displayed was Door Phone A, B, etc. This provides flexibility in that specific names can now be assigned to door phones making it easy to determine which door the user is at. Finally, the other big enhancement is that door phones can now ring standard telephones. For users that are carrying around an analog cordless phone in warehouse applications they can now answer door phones and be able to respond to people calling from the outside. When a station user goes off-hook, two different available stuttered dial tones indicate whether a Message Waiting (MW) or DND condition exists. The MW-stutter dial tone indicates a message is waiting for the station. DND-stutter dial tone indicates DND is set at the station. This is very valuable to station users that do not have a MW Indicator or MW button LED on their telephone. If both conditions exist simultaneously, the MW-stutter dial tone has priority. We wanted the ability to handle all call operations on the main screen in order to minimize user confusion and at the same time ensure that the interface had a similar look to Microsoft Outlook. Finally,we wanted call operations like call priorities and overflow locations to be user defined so that the user has the most flexibility for operation of the console. The screen design has a very clean, less confusing appearance. The user interface is very intuitive. Better yet the physical connections are a DKT port plus a LAN connection to the CPU which ensures a quick response time. The system has a shared directory and message center so all console operators have access to the same information and the station status information has been expanded to include DND and advisory message status. This ensures efficient operation. Plus, only a DKT port is required for the voice connection. No longer is a dedicated interface board required, like the RATU ensuring the more efficient use of slots. Further, you can now have a PC Attendant Console on systems in DK40i type configurations! The DKT port interface for the speech path is with the new interface the BATI. This connects to the PC via a USB connection. This is a sample screen shot of the Call Monitor screen. When the operator is busy you see in the status window that the user has one incoming call ringing and they are currently busy on a call. Like Microsoft Outlook they have access to shortcuts on the left window where they can access other windows like a user directory, control panel for turning the on and off of features, prompt creation or even the administration of console status. The various icons provide visual indication if people are on the phone, idle in Do Not Disturb or have an advisory message associated to their extension like they are on vacation for two weeks. The receptionist can let the caller know that the employee is on vacation before transferring the call. The User Directory lists employees and their assigned internal Directory Numbers , as well as ACD group numbers. The directory may include Primary and Phantom Directory. It serves several purposes: as a BLF/DSS Display for quick transferring of calls; as a directory listing of all employees within the organization as well as miscellaneous DN for reaching various groups or people; as a contact manager for reaching employees with alternate numbers; and as an address for taking and sending messages. BPCI – Strata CTX seulement (série DKT3000) DKT2000/1000 – Strata CTX/DK/DKi RPCI – Strata DK seulement (série DKT2000) Console PC de standardiste – DK/DKi PC Att – Strata DK seulement So let’s review the CTX Compatibility, DKT3000 series phones will be the standard phone. DKT2000 series will be available for existing customers however, due to the compatibility of DKT3000 sets with older Strata systems this will become the phone of choice. The new BPCI is only compatible with Strata CTX systems on DKT3000 series sets. The RPCI will be available for DKT2000 series sets connected to Strata DK/DKi systems. For customers upgrading from older systems the DKT2000/1000 series telephones are compatible with the new Strata CTX. Finally the Attendant Console for the Strata DK is only compatible with the Strata DK systems as a new Attendant console is available for the Strata CTX. The Complete Toshiba eXperience
