2 Pour mettre les verbes au futur:
-er verbs – add the endings to the infinitive -ir verbs - add the endings to the infinitive -re verbs – drop the “e” and add the endings to the infinitive Most irregular verbs that end in –re – drop the “e” and add the endings to the infinitive (croire, prendre, mettre, etc.) Most irregular verbs that end in –ir – just add the endings to the infinitive (ouvrir, servir)

Keep the stem-change for the future stem: J’essaierai (essayer) Je paierai (payer) Je lèverai (lever) J’achèterai (acheter) J’appellerai (appeler) Exception – verbs that change from é to è (préférer, accélérer) – use the infinitive for the stem, with no stem change- j’espérerai
