3 LE FUTUR The French future tense is very much similar to the English future tense, it talks about upcoming events , French future tense has the full set of conjugations

4 Le futur simple Future endings Je __________-ai Tu__________-as
Il ___________-a Nous________-ons Vous ________-ez Ils __________-ont TIP- THINK OF THE “AVOIR” VERB IN PRESENT TENSE ,,,…..

5 EXAMPLES; J’irai au magasin demain. I will go to the store tomorrow.
Ils mangeront dans l’avion. They will eat on the plane.

6 REGULAR VERBS ; DONNER- TO GIVE JE -DONNER + ai TU -DONNER +as
IL/ELLE/ON -DONNER +a NOUS DONNER +ons VOUS DONNER +ez ILS/ELLES DONNER +ont (some other regular verbs are parler,danser, chanter, regarder etc…….)

7 NOTE; Verbs that end in re remove –e of the infinitive before adding the future tense forms like “attendre” ,it will become (attendr+ai) In ‘ir’ verbs we simply add the endings of future tense as in the ‘er’ verbs.

8 SOME IRREGULAR VERBS ; THE FUTURE ENDINGS FOR IRREGULAR VERBS ARE THE SAME FOR ALL THE VERBS ….. SOME IRREGULAR VERBS ARE ; être , avoir , aller , courir , devoir , faire , mourir etc…..

9 EXAMPLES; Être- to be je serai Tu seras Il/elle/on sera Nous serons
Vous serez Ils/elles seront

10 SOME OTHER IRREGULAR VERBS;
AVOIR-TO HAVE (aurai,auras,aura,aurons,aurez, auront) SIMILARLY (aller will be ir, courir- courr ,devoir-devr, faire-fer, mourir-mourr etc)

11 SOME SENTENCES ARE You (tu) will sing. Tu chanteras.
We will watch the television tonight. She would buy the dress. I will play tennis. I would use a dictionary. They will be nice. You (vous) would go to France. Tu chanteras. Nous regarderons la télévision ce soir. Elle achètera la robe. Je jouerai au tennis. J’utiliserais un dictionnaire. Ils seront sympathiques. Vous iriez en France.
