5 To say “of” in French you use the word “de”. Eg… Une boîte de coca = A can of coke However, if the word following “de” starts with a vowel, the word shortens to “d’.” Eg… Une bouteille d’orangina = A bottle of orangina “orangina” starts with a vowel
