L’Heure You MUST use the word « heure » when talking about the time. – « It’s one. » doesn’t work in French! – Midi & minuit are exceptional, as they are set phrases. Writing the time: – Instead of « : », the French write the time divided by « h » for heures. – Ex: 02h00 – Time is usually written on the 24-hour clock (military time). L’Heure - Pronunciation Because HEURE begins with a vowel sound, some of the times are pronounced in a certain way. Z sound – Il est deux heures. – Il est trois heures. – Il est six heures. V sound – Il est neuf heures.
