2 Infinitives In English = to + verb
To swim, to sing, to dance In French, a verb with the ending still attached: Today we will learn verbs ending in –er dîner, danser The –er ALWAYS sounds like [ay] at the end of a word

J’aime chanter. I like to sing

4 Danser [dahn say] = to dance
J’aime danser. [zj emm dahn say] I like to dance.

5 manger [mahn zjay] = to eat
J’aime manger. [zj emm mahn zjay ] I like to eat.

6 J’aime dîner au restaurant.
[deen ay oh rest oh rah] = to dine at a restaurant

7 J’aime écouter la radio.
Écouter [eh coot ay] = to listen Écouter la radio [eh coot ay la rah day oh]= to listen to the radio

8 Nager [nah zjay] = to swim
J’aime nager. [zjemm nah zjay ] I like to swim.

9 Jouer [zj oo ay] = to play
