2 To remember To indicate where things are, you might also want to use à gauche de ( to the left of), à droite de ( to the right of), or près de (near). Don’t forget that after these prepositions, de becomes du before masculine nouns and des before plural nouns. It doesn’t change before feminine nouns or nouns that begin with vowel. Ex. A gauche du salon…; Près de la cuisine…; à côté de l’étagère…
