ACTIVITY: Body Parts Dribble
Pairs of players start at one side of a large playing area. The first player dribbles the ball out to the far side of the playing area then performs a turn before dribbling back to stop the ball on the starting cone line for their partner. Partner repeats performing the same turn. After a few goes each demonstrate a different type of turn for the players to perform. Players repeat dribble & turn sequence using the new turn (techniques could include: drag back turn, inside/outside of the foot cut, Cruyff turn…) As players continue the coach can then shout out body parts & whoever is dribbling the ball at that time has to stop & place that body part on the ball as quickly as possible. On a signal from the coach, players then carry on.

Mon visage You can download this lovely simple video with authentic french sound from youtube to play offline easily using mediaconverter as before from Then encourage the children to make their own faces – they could also do this as a collage to try and imitate Picasso’s style – perhaps cutting eyes and noses from magazines – even a fun homework activitiy – then label together in class. Those who need support could be given preprinted labels to glue on, others can write their own – literacy objective to copy single words correctly
19
Les couleurs Download this youtube video by copying the url to the right of the clip, pasting it into mediaconverter.org and then choosing wmv as the format.

Montrez-moi quelque chose de bleu
The soundfile here is from Babelzone
21
Montrez-moi quelque chose de rouge
Now you get the idea – so in ICT ask the children to produce a slide in groups – one colour for each group – they will have to search for the images using Google, save to the computer and insert into the ppt themselves – if you are feeling nice you can start them off with the title!
22
Group work / ICT links Children work in groups to create their own powerpoint slides for one colour. Children will need to use a search engine, search for images, save the images to a folder and then insert them into ppt, resizing & repositioning as necessary. Group slides are collated to make a class powerpoint of all the colours.

rouge blanc orange bleu violet noir vert marron jaune
Click on the word and move it to the correct picture. In ‘show’ mode, click on the word and move cursor to the appropriate colour. Click again to leave the label there. How many can your class do? How fast can they do them all? The soundfile here is from Babelzone and is just a list of colours rouge blanc orange bleu violet noir vert marron jaune
24
X O X O O X O X practise & revise colours with a class game of le morpion – noughts & crosses. Divide class into 2 teams, one half noughts the other crosses. If ‘crosses’ choose (and say correctly) ‘bleu’ for example, click on a cross and move your cursor to the blue crayon. Click again and the cross will stay there. Now it is ‘noughts’ turn. First team with a line of three wins. O X
