2 Comment dit-on…? how do you say..? Making purchases: To ask what quantity someone wants: Combien en voulez-vous? How many/how much do you want? To ask for a certain quantity of something: Je voudrais une livre de tomates. Je vais prendre un kilo de bananes. Des pommes? Je vais en prendre deux kilos. I’II take….(of them) To ask for the total cost: Ça fait combien?

3 Note de grammaire “En” The object pronoun en means of them. You use it to replace the phrase de(s) + a thing or things. -Vous voulez des fraises? -Oui, je vais en prendre une livre. -Et avec ça? -Des bananes, s’il vous plait. -Combien en vous voulez-vous? - Un kilos, s’il vous plait.
