3 To say it’s quarter after the hour add et quart or quinze (15) Exemple: It’s 5:15 → Il est cinq heures et quart/ Il est cinq heures quinze If It’s 5:15 pm (17h15)→ Il est dix-sept heures quinze (official time)

4 To say it’s half past the hour, add et demi(e)or trente (30) Exemple: It’s 6:30 → Il est six heures et demie / Il est six heures trente. If it’s 6:30 pm (18h30) → Il est dix-huit heures trente (official time)

5 To say it’s quarter to the hour: add moins le quart (before the next hour)/quarante-cinq (after the hour) Exemple: Its 2:45 → Il est trois heures moins le quart / Il est deux heures quarante-cinq
