De l’imparfait Uses infinitive as its stem Endings: Je –aisNous –ions Tu –ais Vous –iez Il –ait Ils –aient It the sentence begins with a “si”, it is often a conditional. But the “si” is in the imparfait Si j’etais toi(imparfait), je telephonerais(conditional) a tes parents.

Using the conditional will make your sentences/phrases sound more polite.

Example Questions Je (to eat) bien un pizza ce soir. Il (to sell) sa motocyclette si ses parents le lui permettaient. Nous (to go/to leave) demain si nous pouvions. Marie (to have) de meilleurs notes si elle etudiait ses leçons.
