Year 7 learnt ‘aller’ – some groups did it to Baa Baa Black sheep. It works well so worth a repeat! Make sure groups do the gestures that they learnt for the pronouns so that they don’t just memorise but produce meanings that they retain and can re-use! These 3 slides provide no new vocabulary, just revision of year 7, showing how it can be re-worked into 3 obvious questions about holidays. With an able class I would think this would be quick and should provide a few minutes ‘automatization’ practice if you vary between all 3 questions so that they keep focusing on the meaning they are making. With most able pupils try having a longer exchange including ‘Tu aimes aller en vacances avec ta famille? Pourquoi (pas)? See if pupils can begin to work a little more spontaneously as they know much of this language now. En vacances on holiday

Then with whole class get them to think about how you change the infinitive to get to ‘je’ form. If you have taught them about infinitives and verb paradigms with the bar of chocolate story, refer to it now to get them to remember back.
