The project is designed to address the current lack of pedagogical commonality in English, Welsh and MFL using story telling as a hook. The project is designed to be paper free in order to improve the ICT skills of both teacher and learner. The resources and lesson plans are similar and feature common terminology. The aim is to improve the skills of all students regardless of the subject studied. The project crosses all three Key Stage 3 years with learners considered to be ready to complete the project in Year 7 for English, Year 8 for Welsh and Year 9 for MFL.

To revamp an existing Narrative Writing Scheme of Work for Year 7 implementing ICT packages to give a fresh look to Story Telling. To enable pupils to become more independent learners. To inspire creativity in Year 7 English pupils. To use common terminology in Welsh at Year 8 and MFL at Year 9. To improve pupils literacy.

Improving the ICT capabilities of Key Stage 3 pupils. Creating more independent learners, working at their own speed and level to be assessed by outcome. Finding new ways of presenting work. Learning through kinaesthetic methods. Working interdependently.

Essential Skills Information and communication technology progression skills - Level 1 Communication progression skills - Level 1 Speaking and Listening, Reading and Writing.

The 2011 pupil planners contain a shared spelling and reading record, a spelling strategies document and vocabulary sheets designed to encourage pupils to make links between the languages. These are also displayed in all language classrooms. A range of grammar focused lesson starters and activities for use in all languages was also developed. Rebecca Kent and Stacey Mahoney trialled a shared story telling project for KS3 pupils. This project had the added challenge of being ICT based and also involved pupils experimenting with new touch screen software. It was designed to promote independent learning and each on line module contained ICT tutorials. Students were asked to re-tell well known stories in their own words and then studied techniques of story writing such as characterisation and plot through the medium of French and English. Other resources for the promotion of Triple Literacy are continuing to be trialled and developed.
