5 OLCT IR The transmitter OLCT IR is designed for detection of flammable gas : hydrocarbons, methane,propane/butane as standard and others on request… Note : functional in inert gas atmosphere.

11 ALCANES detection: version « HC » recommanded : –Sur l’OLCT IR HC on a moins de 15 % d’écart de sensibilité pour les alcanes non cycliques de C 2 (éthane) au C 9 (nonane) et le calibrage butane permet d’être en sécurité en cas de mélanges, tandis que cet écart dépasse 35 % sur l’OLCT IR CH4. –A titre de comparaison, on a ci-contre la réponse d’un OLCT IR CH4 à différents alcanes. –Dans le cas le cas de la présence potentielle de méthane et d’autres alcanes, l’OLCT IR CH4 permet d’assurer la sécurité de détection dans tous les cas, mais les alcanes > C 2 seront fortement surestimés.

12 ALCOOLS detection : version « HC » recommanded. –L’OLCT IR HC est le mieux adapté pour les alcools les plus courants. –L’interférence sur l’OLCT IR CH4 des alcools est donnée dans le graphe ci- contre.

20 OLCT IR : maintenance The OLCT IR has been designed to requiere a minimum of maintenance : it ’s only necessary to inspect visually that the weather protection is not clogged in heavily contaminated areas and be sure that the optical surfaces are clean*. * use an equal-part mixture of isopropyl alcohol and water.

21 Two configurations for adapting to your site : Housing « E » = standalone version, fitted with a terminal compartment and a cable gland. Housing « M25 » = free- fitting version, fitted with a threading and 3-wire output for electrical connections.

23 INSTALLATION : indications –The location of each detector should preferably be determined at the system design stage : –where gas leakage is most likely to occur –It should be considered whether the gas in question is heavier or lighter than air ? –The detector can be used with the weather protection (réf : 6124976) –The detector should not be mounted where it could be exposed to water drenching

24 INSTALLATION : orientation –L’OLCT IR must be mounted so that the flow direction indicator must point upwards.

25 INSTALLATION : information –Housing “ E ” must be mounted so that the longitudinal axis of OLCT IR is horizontal. –This will prevent accumulation of water and dust on the optics –for this purpose, mounting bracket is avaible : réf : 6132380.

29 Accessories Interface-module allows a direct transmetter 4-20mA linking to a channel initially connected with a catalytic gas detector (analog signal in mv): and that, without other modifications of installation (cable…), wiring and electronics (control unit) !
