French Bridging the gap Year In the light of the new languages specifications 2016, it would be relevant for future Y12 linguists to focus on their research skills. VDU July 2016

Objectives: Good: To develop research skills Great: To be able to select and summarise information in French Amazing: To be able to present your research in French Individual research project (from the AQA Specifications) Students must identify a subject or a key question which is of interest to them and which relates to a country or countries where French is spoken. They must select relevant information in French from a range of sources including the internet. The aim of the research project is to develop research skills. Students will demonstrate their ability to initiate and conduct individual research by analysing and summarising their findings, in order to present and discuss them in the speaking assessment. In order to encourage you to develop your research skills, your teachers would like you to complete a log book (on the following slides) which covers various cultural aspects of France. This task will enlarge your general and cultural knowledge of France and in the meantime it will enrich your French vocabulary. Please print your cultural log book and bring it to your first French lessons to discuss.
