C OMMENT CONJUGUER LES VERBES DU GROUPE - ER Drop the –er ending from the infinitive to get the stem ex. Danser becomes dans- Add the endings: Je dans e Tu dans es Il dans e Nous dans ons Vous dans ez Ils dans ent (The last two letters are always silent for ils/elles.)

S TEM - CHANGING – ER VERBS Verbs ending in –ayer have an optional stem change: Payer Je paie, tu paies, il paie, nous payons, vous payez, ils paient OR Je paye, tu payes, il paye, nous payons, vous payez, ils payent

N ÉGATION AVEC NE … PAS You can negate une phrase française (a French sentence) by placing the words ne and pas around the verb. Observe: Je ne veux pas aller. Ils n aiment pas le fromage. Here are other options to experiment with: Ne…jamais Ne…rien Ne…plus
