Le temps Le temps is literally translated to “The time” You have heard this before in the question Qu’est-ce que tu aimes faire dans ton temps libre? What do you like to do in your free time? However, le temps is the term also used for “The weather” Quel temps fait-il? How’s the weather?
FAIRE, PAS Être Just like we saw with “Les expressions avec Avoir”, English uses the verb “To Be”; however, French uses other verbs In this case, when describing the weather, we use the impersonal verb “Faire” Il fait beau It’s nice out Il fait du vent It’s windy
3rd person singular = il When describing “Le temps”, we are always going to use “Il [verb]” We are never going to see any other pronoun (No = Je/Tu/Elle/Nous/Vous/Ils) Il fait du soleil It is sunny
Quel temps fait-il? How’s the weather? Il fait chaud Il fait froid “eel fay show” Il fait froid “eel fay fhrwa” It’s hot It’s cold
