Prepositions of location à used with cities à Paris, à New York meaning in or to en in , on , to in many cases used for countries Je voyage en Espagne et en France. I travel in Spain and France.

Preposition de used by itself or joined with other words Paul est de San Francisco. Paul is from San Francisco. Je suis de New York. I am from New York.

When de is followed by a definite article use: Du De la De l’ Des Je suis près du café. (de+ le = du) Nous sommes à côté de l’école. (de la + vowel) Vous êtes près des chiens.

Some prepositions could be used without the nouns Mon père travaille tout près. My father works really close by. Ta soeur habite juste à côté. Your sister lives right next door.

Tout and juste can be used to emphasized what you want to say Elle est juste devant toi. She is just (right) in front of you. Ce restaurant est tout près de lycée. This restaurant is really close to high school.
