There are roughly 4 ways of expressing this type of action. 1. Aller and infinitive*  to be going to + infinitive e.g.Je vais manger – I am going to eat e.g. Il va écrire – he’s going to write 2. Espérer + infinitive  to be hoping to + infinitive e.g. J’espère lire ce livre – I am hoping to read this book e.g.Nous espérons arriver à cinq heures – we are hoping to arrive at 5
